Product Details

Hydroquinone, also known as hydroquinone, is an organic compound formed when two para-hydrogens of benzene are replaced by hydroxyl groups. Its chemical formula is C₆H₆O₂. It is a white crystalline powder and is primarily used in the production of black-and-white developers, anthraquinone dyes, azo dyes, rubber antioxidants, stabilizers, and antioxidants.

Applications

1. Hydroquinone is primarily used as a photographic developer. Hydroquinone and its alkylated compounds are widely used as polymerization inhibitors during monomer storage and transportation, with a typical concentration of approximately 200 ppm.

2. It is used as an antioxidant for rubber and gasoline, among other applications.

3. In the treatment industry, hydroquinone can be added to hot and cooling water in closed-circuit heating and cooling systems to inhibit corrosion of metals on the water side. Hydroquinone is also used as a boiler water deoxidizer, added to the boiler water during preheating and deoxygenation to remove residual dissolved oxygen.

4. It is used in the manufacture of anthraquinone dyes, azo dyes, and pharmaceutical raw materials.

5. It is used as a corrosion inhibitor, stabilizer, and antioxidant in detergents and in cosmetic hair dyes. 6. Photometric determination of phosphorus, magnesium, niobium, copper, silicon, and arsenic. Polarographic and volumetric determination of iridium. Reducing agent for heteropolyacids, copper, and gold.
