Product Details

Betaine, chemical name N,N,N-trimethylglycine, molecular formula C5H11NO2, molecular weight 117.146, CAS registration number 107-43-7. Betaine belongs to quaternary ammonium base substances, is an alkaloid, widely found in animals, plants and microorganisms.

Chemical properties:

The melting point of betaine is 301 to 305℃, the density is 1.00g/cm³, the appearance is white crystalline powder, odorless, sweet. It is soluble in water, methanol and ethanol, and slightly soluble in ether.

Preparation method:

Betaine is mainly produced by the oxidative metabolism of choline. In industry, beet molasses is the main raw material for extracting betaine.

Application areas:

Feed additive: In animal feed, betaine acts as a methyl donor to promote fat metabolism, improve the palatability of feed, alleviate heat stress, and regulate the body's osmotic pressure.

‌Medicine‌: Betaine is used as a nutritional supplement in the medical field. It has the effect of protecting cells and reducing liver fatty degeneration. ‌Skin care products‌: Due to its mild cleansing effect, betaine is used in skin care products, which has a safe and effective cleansing effect.‌
